What I Wore: Summer-izing
jacket | tee | jeans | scarf (as belt) | bag (on sale!) | cuff | shoes

I featured this jacket in my capsule wardrobe inspired by cabi. cabi was kind enough to gift me this bag and gosh it goes with SO MUCH! I've wanted a band-inspired jacket forever and have had this picture of Hilary Swank from 2002 in a band-inspired jacket as inspiration for quite a long while but haven't found one that fit and flattered my curves. Now I do! And I've always been a big fan of black with navy! While this is a jacket from a fall collection, I made it work for a cooler summer day at the more casual office I work at by pairing it with crisp white jeans and nude pumps.

Love the nautical vibe with the stripes!

I like that you are wearing the jacket with the sleeves pushed up, but do you have a trick for getting them to stay pushed up? I’m never able to do this with jackets or sweaters, and rolling just doesn’t have the same casual cool.
This one is easy because it is stretchy ponte but the seaming on the cuffs holds things in place. I usually can only push up with stretchy jackets and my fuller forearms keep them in place.
My problem with Cabi is the expense for items that I feel I can find elsewhere for less cash. That, as well as the fact the consultant usually doesn’t have everything i’m interested in in my size. As you own this jacket, would you say it’s worth $169?
I do think it’s worth $169. The fabric is a nice quality, the details are impeccable, it’s well crafted, the buttons alone must be worth a lot. With stylists not having a good size range, that’s a real problem and I think stylists likely would be more successful if they took the time and the inventory to style a broader range of people. It’s easy to dress a mannequin, harder to style curves but if you do the research, you can get some Curvy fans for life.
Those Cabi jeans look fabulous! I would never guess they were a kick flare.
Big calves come in handy sometimes!
You’re inspiring me to get my white jeans out of the hidden depths of my closet and WEAR them. I try them on timidly and feel like I look fat. Hell with that nonsense!
Yes! Rock those white jeans!
