Well now all you know what I got for the Ann Taylor Friends & Family! I got this dress (which was on sale already), the white wrap shirt and black pants from yesterday, and a 3/4 sleeve black wrap shirt that hasn’t yet been worn. I also got white jeans but returned them (the 12…
In my dressy fashion emergency kit post, Lisa mentioned in the comments that the post needed an image of a capsule wardrobe. It’s funny, I write about capsule wardrobes all the time, but didn’t even think of this emergency kit being a capsule wardrobe! I decided to elaborate a bit in a separate post as…
Dear Allie, can you give some pointers on how to style a peplum top? I see girls in my office wearing them and they’re super cute, but with skinny black pants, I (and, to be honest, some of my coworkers), end up looking like I’m wearing a skirt that’s too short with black leggings. How…
Blogger Fashion Trends. They do exist. There are just some styles that bloggers latch on to, and the trend grows like wildfire. Some, I could do without, but many are so popular because they are just so darn wearable on many different shapes and ages of women, and adaptable on varying clothing budgets. While these…
Lots of really rough storms in my area yesterday, we were lucky and didn’t lose power or any trees. Explains the crazy super humid thick air of yesterday. DC is known for being terribly humid, but yesterday was unusually intense (maybe why I was whining about heat when usually I am basking in 100 degree…
Fur is on trend this year… and it disgusts me. I can’t believe that it’s 2014 and people are comfortable wearing new fur garments and that magazines (WTF latest issue of Lucky) are still promoting it. I think by now we are all too aware how fur coats are made, and thanks to technology and…
Peggy Bundy. When I was in elementary school, a good friend’s mom kinda dressed that way except the look was the 50s version. Very tight capris which were then called pedal pushers, dyed artificial looking red hair, too much way -out- of -the -lip- line -red-lipstick, and those awful Lucite heels called Spring-O-Laters.
As a kid, I didn’t care how people dressed, but this woman was so over the
top that I couldn’t help but wonder. Even with all of that I could have
let it go if she wasn’t so awfully mean to my friend. She really was an abusive
mom and apparently didn’t care who was watching. I guess I never got
over associating that look with that woman.
Just so I am clear, I think you look great in your wild suit and I do not, DO NOY
associate you in any way with the Peg Bundy/mean mom look.
LOL you crack me up Chris!
I have this exact suit. It was a perfect outfit when I was in Vegas! The fit is amazing and the fabric is as comfy as pajamas. It’s by far my favorite suit. The individual pieces are so versitile – as is Cabi’s way. Love it!
Oooh I bet this IS a good Vegas look!
Rock it girl! I’d probably would of chickened out before I saw these photos. By the way, the shoots since you went full time have been even better than before. Loving the back drops and the relation to the fashion. Merry Christmas!- Laurel
Thanks so much Laurel!
You look so happy in these photos! Any ideas for grey leopard/snow leopard in plus?
I couldn’t find any other than basic tops when writing this post which is why I didn’t link to similar. I don’t know why some brands think plus size women like gaudy style, why is it that snow leopard can look normal up to say size 12 and then turn into insanity? 🙁
This is really fun!
Thanks!
Your hair looks amazing in these shots.
thank you!
I just had to comment that you look great in this outfit! Just stunning! You really know how to rock the leopard! I really love that jacket, and would consider it to get back into my own “out of the box” style I used to have.
Thank you! And this jacket is a great gateway piece1
I love this outfit ! Normally I would not pair a leopard top and bottom either (and I’m a MAJOR leopard print FREAK) but this works and is tasteful NOT tacky! Really cool and I’m very much drawn to it.
LOL your avatar is appropriate! 🙂
I LOVE this look.
thank you!
After many years as a cabi shopper, next month I begin my journey as a cabi stylist. I hope you will be at Scoop! And I’m not sure if it’s true or not but having read your blog for years, my sense is that when you are letting your rocker glamour girl out you are a happier person. If that’s correct, you must be stinkin’ happy!
Oooh so excited for you Karen! And yes, things are pretty good right now!
I bought the same suit at a cabi party last month! I was wondering if you would go for it, too, when I read that you were attending the recent cabi event! Super fun, no?
So much fun!
