Sort of a hazy, figgy day so I was able to get a reasonable picture. Blackberry dolman sweater from Ann Taylor Loft, denim trousersfrom Gap, black city boots from Aldo, gold chain from Express, thin gold hoops from Diva. Hair was washed and conditioned, then a bit of Sexy Straight Balm applied and hair dried…
Dress: London Times via Gwynnie Bee (similar, similar) | Bag: Hobo (similar) | Earrings: Argento Vivo (similar) | Bracelet: Gorjana | Shoes: Nine West This is one of those dresses that works almost year round. While I wore it on a steamy workday, I could imagine it come fall or winter with opaque tights, and…
This past week had me craving prints and color and all things spring. While it got so cold this week in Maryland that we had frost and a chance of snow, spring has truly spring with happy birds, flowering trees, intensely blue skies, and every plant bursting forth electric greenery. The week started off warmer…
Okay, so you guys have seen I have been doing some shopping on eBay. I have had some luck, a few not-so-good purchases, but all in all it has been successful. I had done minimal eBay shopping in the past – bought my Banana Republic purse there last year, got some tools back when I…
Dress: c/o Karen Kane | Watch: Citizen c/o WatchCo | Bracelet: Nordstrom | Bag: Love,Cortnie | Shoes: Nine West ‘Flax’ I adore Karen Kane for comfy, flattering pieces with a bit of sex appeal. Karen Kane was kind enough to send me this dress a long while ago (talking no cast on my arm part…
Cute outfit! Love the coat! I recently discovered all the great plus sizes at Macy’s, didn’t know they even had Tommy (& City Chic). In fact, I own those jeans in black and in medium wash denim.
Great minds! 🙂 Yes, I have been sleeping on Macy’s… no more!
I’ve loved your blog for years and have bought several of my favorite items within minutes of seeing them on the blog even though we are different sizes/shapes/styles (EVA birkenstocks, smart wool invisible socks, resusable cotton rounds & other things I’m not remembering right now.) The quality of the posts & photos since you’ve gone full time is so much higher — and I didn’t think the blog could get better. I hope you’re feeling really good about the decision.
Oh wow thank you so much Jennifer! I shared your comment with Karl, it’s awesome how we can really work together on these shoots to best reflect my style, his talent, and the clothes!
Such a smart and sophisticated look, Alison!!!
I absolutely adore that you added some print mixing with the scarf!!

Thanks Jodie!
Beautiful coat! And as a longtime reader, excited to hear you are focusing on the blog full-time. I really hope to see a more frequent cadence of articles dedicated to reader questions, wardrobe capsules, how to wear X trend, what to wear, etc.
Yes! Right now I am trying to dial in this new normal but that is definitely on the list for 2018! 🙂
Flattering with a capital F!!!!!!
Thanks so much Melissa!
Alison,
The entire outfit is lovely but I’m particularly fascinated by the shoes. Can you tell me a bit more about them?
I have aspirations of some day finding comfortable heels that will fit my rather wide rectangular “Fred Flinstone”-shaped feet.
Cute on how many gals live with you! I’m probably closer to this one than others…but I would of never thought of the bandana. This is why I need you to nudge me into your world a bit!

That is the very reason I too love blogs – they have me see things slightly differently and get new ideas! Two heads are always better than one, even if one of the heads is virtual!
