There are #gifted clothes in this post. Monday: The Basics Monday was the kind of day where I am glad to have mix and match basics in my closet… and also that I document my outfits. I remembered this look and essentially replicated it. The sweater is L.L.Bean size XL, the joggers are my Spanx…
As I walk to work this month, I see so many missed style opportunities. September is a confusing month – one day it’s 85 degrees, the next day it’s 50. In a single city block I can pass white linen, canvas espadrilles, parkas, tall leather boots and winter gloves. How does one dress for the…
Happy birthday to me! Of course I woke up to the lovely monthly occurrence and also the cold my husband had last week. No worries, it’s a sunny day and I had a relaxing weekend. However I am going to dress in the work-appropriate version of pajamas. Black merino shift from Banana Republic, black heavy…
Dress: White House Black Market (similar) | Belt: Another Line (similar) | Boots: Ros Hommerson | Necklace: Purchased in Key West | Silver cuff I have been dealing with insomnia off and on since Thanksgiving or so. I know it’s because there’s too much on my plate, but not much I can do about that….
Dress – Muse (last year) Tights – Nordstrom Booties – Miss Sixty Necklace – Ann Taylor (no longer available) Nope, that’s not my bra shining through the dress – dress is black ponte with a black lining and underneath is a black bra. In the 30 seconds I allot each morning for the photo,…
The older Emerson gets, the busier my weekends. Girl Scouts Daisies, dance classes, birthdays, homework (yes kindergarteners have homework!), play dates are all scheduled with errands and chores tucked in the free moments. I keep my weekend looks like a uniform so I can save my brainpower for the tasks at hand. A pair of…
Did you get your scarf back yet? May we see it please? What do you think about it?
Chris
I just got it back today! I’ll have it on the blog hopefully this week but there’s a sneak peek on InstaStories today!
I can’t wait to see the results. You’ll share them here, right? (Please!) And that belt absolutely makes the dress outfit, IMO. So stinkin’ cute!
I just dyed a few dresses last night, which has nothing to do with your post or my reaction to it. You and your daughter show an exquisite bond in these photos. They are wall worthy my girl!
Allie, there’s a French woman who ties scarves in the most imaginative ways I’ve ever seen. If you look through the tutorials on her blog, you’ll see examples of how to tie the same scarf in different ways so that you can highlight the design aspects that you would prefer to accent — you can actually fold it in such a way that you can completely ignore the middle pattern if you wish it were a different design or color! Her Hermès collection is stunning, and her sense of color is remarkable. https://maitaicollection.com
You too look TOO cute together !
I had never heard of the Hermèsmatic, how amazing!
love your dress! You two look so cute!!!! Love the outfits and sounds like such a great experience at hermes
I love, love, love that dress, and the pictures of you and Emerson are adorable! Can’t wait to see how your scarf turns out.
Such a lovely dress and scarf. You and your daughter are gorgeous!
I’m interested to hear more about the dye process. Are they able to change only one color in the pattern, or does the entire scarf get dyed?
The whole scarf is dyed, this video from Hermes shows a before and after from a predominately white scarf. Curious to see how mine turns out since there’s no white, hoping it just tones down the vibrancy and makes the gold more orange/coral! http://usa.hermes.com/la-maison-des-carres/hermesmatic-nyc.html
